Teddy Doherty ’94 from Hopkinton, MA recently competed with Team USA’s U17 select hockey team at the Five Nations Tournament in Huttwil, Switzerland. Doherty, one of only six defenseman selected by USA Hockey to represent the United States at this international tournament, is an alum of the Assabet hockey program where he was a standout defenseman on the 1994 team throughout his youth hockey career. Prior to his selection to the national U17 team, Teddy participated in the USA Hockey national development camp in Rochester, NY, impressing members of the national selection committee and emerging as one of the top rated ’94 defenseman at camp. Team USA finished first at the Five Nations Tournament with a 3-1 record; the tournament included teams from Czech Republic, Slovakia, Switzerland and Germany. Doherty was the leading scorer among Team USA defensemen with 1G, 3A and second in scoring among all defensemen in the tournament. Doherty will return to Shattuck-St. Mary’s where he is entering his junior year.
