CONCORD, MA -- The Bantam Major '93s capped off a very successful showing for the Assabet Program in this year's MBHL Playoffs with an exciting 4-3 victory over #1 seed New Hampshire Avalanche. "Strong defense and great goaltending by Brian Tomczyk led the 93 Assabet Valley Patriots to their 1st MBHL title" according to 6-year Head Coach Steve Sikalis. "The forward lines dominated the strong Avalanche team throughout the game, and penalty killers limited all chances the Av's had. Overall, this was a great team victory."

CONCORD, MA -- The Assabet Bantam Minor 94s posted a 4-3 OT victory over CD Selects (Albany, NY) at Valley Sports Arena yesterday to win their 3rd MBHL Championship in four years. The victory caps off an undefeated MBHL regular season performance (29-0-3). |

CONCORD, MA –The PeeWee Major ‘95s topped #1 seed CD Selects (Albany, NY) by a score of 4-2 yesterday at Valley Sports Arena to win the team’s first MBHL Championship. The ‘95s went 0-4 and were outscored 17-10 against the CD Selects during regular season play but the coaching staff had the 5th-seeded Assabet team firing on all cylinders for the ‘07-08 playoffs. Congratulations to the players for a great season. |

CONCORD, MA -- The Assabet Mite Major ‘99s entered the MBHL Playoffs as the #4 seed and faced an uphill battle to repeat as league champions. In quarterfinal round action against Worcester, the Patriots tied the game with 3 seconds and went on to win in 2OT. In semifinal action, the ‘99s upended #1 seed Springfield Pics, 2-0. In the Championship game yesterday, the Patriots beat the #2 seed St Moritz Devils, 4-1, to clinch the MBHL Title.

CONCORD, MA –- The Assabet Valley Patriots Minor Hockey Association is pleased to host the 2007-08 MBHL Playoffs this weekend at Valley Sports Arena. Congratulations to all qualifying teams. Mite Major '99 and Minor 2000 semifinal action start on Friday night, March 14. Semifinal rounds for Squirt Minor through Bantam Major Divisions will be played on Saturday March 15. CONCORD, MA – The Assabet Valley Minor Hockey Association is pleased to announce that Greg Carter has been named the new President, effective at the end of the 2007-08 season. “Greg brings a tremendous hockey background to this role as a former Assabet Patriot youth player, successful D1 college player, and entrepreneur who operates Greg Carter’s European Hockey School,” said outgoing President Marc Foland. “He brings a deep understanding of how to develop young hockey players and he has the experience of managing a nationally recognized hockey development program.”
“On behalf of the AVMHA, I want to thank Marc for many years of service, not only as President but also as head coach of several Assabet teams over the past decade,” said Greg Carter. “Marc has done a remarkable job of managing Assabet through a turbulent time of league changes and uncertainty in New England AAA hockey.”

CRANSTON, RI --The 96s won the PeeWee Minor division of the Ocean State Classic in Rhode Island over Presidents Day Weekend. The team went 3-0 in the round robin portion of the 10-team tournament, and finished with the top seed for the elimination round, drawing a bye in the quarterfinals. The 96s beat a much bigger Nassau County team 2-1 with a come-from-behind victory in the semis, and followed that up with a convincing 3-0 win in the finals. With strong goal-keeping and team defense, the 96s held their opponents to only 4 goals in 5 games.

CRANSTON, RI -- The 99s had a great tournament in Rhode Island at the Ocean State Classic the weekend of Feb 16-18. With victories over the Northstar Selects (4-1) and Greater New Haven (5-2), and a tie against ECHO (CT) (1-1) in the round robin, the 99s advanced to the tournament semi-finals with a record of 2-0-1. In the Semi-Finals, the 99s once again battled Greater New Haven and advanced to the Finals with a 5-0 victory. In the Finals, the Assabet 99s faced ECHO (CT) again, but this time came up a little short, losing 5-3, to take the Runner-Up trophy. |

SALEM, NH -- The Assabet Valley Squirt Major '97s won the 2008 TopGun Invitational Tournament this past weekend at the Icenter in Salem, NH. The Patriots went 3-1 in round robin play to draw the Exeter Freeze in the semifinals. The '97s advanced to the final game by edging out the Freeze, 2-0. In the championship game, Assabet outlasted the Middlesex Islanders in a come-from-behind 3-2 victory. |
