AVP 96's - Playoff Finalist

The Assabet '96 Bantam Minor team, which finished sixth during the regular
season, had a very successful playoff run including a matchup against first
place finisher New England Falcons in the NEHL championship game.  During
the qualifying round, Assabet eliminated the Seacoast Spartans (third place
finisher) by overcoming a 2-0 first period deficit with an impressive 7-4
win.   Assabet then suffered a 6-0 loss in its second game to the Falcons
but AVP was still able to advance to the semis.  In the semi-final game, the
Assabet boys again showed tremendous heart with a thrilling, come from
behind 5-4 overtime win against the New Hampshire Monarchs.  Trailing 4-2
going into the third period, Assabet never let up - tying the game in the
final minutes of regulation and then getting the game winner with less than
a minute of OT remaining.  Assabet faced the NE Falcons in the championship
game and came up a bit short with a 3-0 final score including an ENG.
